As a child, I loved climbing trees, this was my passion, and plants. My mother, Dorothea, and grandmother, Antonia, loved beautiful stones, faceted dark garnets from the East, dark and heavy, yet beautifully faceted to lighten their wearing. Each morning, as a ritual, I’d look through my mother’s jewellery.

My grandfather, Bernhard’s gold filigree work cufflinks, from the workshops of Indonesian fine gold smiths, mingled with the smell of my grandmother, her pearls, my mother, sardonyx,, insects trapped in fine amber to peer at, carnelian and rock crystal … necklaces of all types of gemstones .. ones I imagined one day I would wear.

A love of the natural and a strong belief in giving back to the Earth through creating and honouring a tradition of passing on a timeless piece of natural beauty, inspires us at ANAMO Gemstone Jewellery.
